Superstar, Mahesh Babu will be back on the silver screen after one and half year of gap. His last venture was Sarkaru Vaari Paata which was a commercial success. Now the actor is set to ablaze cinemas with his latest flick, Guntur Kaaram. 

The film is directed by Trivikram Srinivas, S/O Sathyamurthi and Ala Vaikhuntapurramuloo fame. The director is collaborating with Mahesh after 12 years. Their last venture together was Khaleja which came in 2010.

The teaser and lyrical song, Dum Masala has created a good buzz for the movie in social media. The anticipation regarding the film is increasing gradually. 

It seems both the powerhouse director and actor will taste the success like their last releases. The film would have a great start at the box office given the huge craze for the actor in the two Telugu states. 

The only thing which can barr the bumper opening of the movie is Prabhas's Kalki 2898AD. However, there are high chance that the latter film will be postponed due to the incomplete shooting schedule of the movie.

The movie is reportedly made on a budget of 150-200 Crs. And if reports are to be believed, it has recovered the amount from the theatrical rights itself. 

It has sold the theatrical rights in the Andhra and Nizam area for 95-105 Cr. And the overseas and rest of India rights for 30 Cr. The overall business is being valued at around 150 crores which is tantamount to its budget.

It is said that Mahesh Babu had taken 78 Crs as his salary for Guntur Kaaram. 

Guntur Kaaram Screen Counts and OTT

If Kalki 2898 AD is postponed then Guntur Kaaram will get in the range of 2000-2200 theatre counts worldwide. Of which 1000-1200 screens will be from the AP-TG region, alone. 

It seems Mahesh Babu's film has entered into the profit zone before hitting the theatres. It has covered its budget from the theatrical business. And has sold its OTT, satellite and dubbing rights for a sum of 50 Crs, as per News18. 

Guntur Kaaram will be released on Netflix after the theatrical release.
