Does the other person need to install TALKSEN?
No. They scan your QR code with their phone’s camera: the conversation opens in their browser, already set to their language.
How long does the translation take?
TALKSEN waits for the end of your sentence and translates all of it, which keeps the meaning better. The other person hears it about a second and a half later, and reads it on their screen.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, translation happens online. If the other person has no signal, they will be able to join your phone’s hotspot with a second QR code.
Are my conversations stored?
Your history is kept on your phone, and you can switch it off or delete it at any time. The place name is only used if you allow it.
Does TALKSEN understand proper names?
Better with your help. Save names of people, streets or companies in your vocabulary: TALKSEN recognises them better and avoids translating them. The text on screen lets you check, and the backup keyboard lets you type a difficult name.
How much will TALKSEN cost?
Prices will be announced at launch: shown with tax included, the same for everyone, with no weekly subscription and a free plan to try it out.
When can I use TALKSEN?
TALKSEN is currently being tested. Join the waiting list to hear about the launch and be among the first testers.
Which devices will TALKSEN run on?
On iPhone and Android as a downloadable app, and on computers via the browser. The other person only needs their phone’s camera and browser.
Can I use TALKSEN without looking at the screen?
Yes: every sentence is read aloud in the other person’s language. The text stays on screen so you can check it if in doubt.
What happens if a sentence is misunderstood?
An orange “?” appears next to the sentence, inviting you to repeat it. You can also type a tricky word, an address or a number with the backup keyboard.
Can we talk at the same time?
Each person has their own button. If you start speaking while the other person’s translation is being read, TALKSEN stops reading and listens to you.
Will my email address be sold?
No. It is only used to tell you when TALKSEN launches, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
