How the conversation works

Sentence by sentence

TALKSEN waits for the end of your sentence and translates all of it, then the other person hears it about a second and a half later, in a natural voice. That is what we measured between two phones.

Questions about English ↔ French

Does the other person need to speak English?

No. They speak French, you speak English, and each of you hears the other in your own language.

Do I need to install an app to speak French?

You do. The other person does not: they scan your QR code and the conversation opens in their browser.

How reliable is the French translation?

It suits everyday exchanges: short sentences, practical questions. The text stays on screen so you can check, and if a sentence may have been misunderstood, a “?” prompts you to repeat it. Add proper names to your vocabulary.
